Among the many different things in my collection I have a small collection of world coins I inherited from my uncle. I don't think they are really worth much and don't really want to buy a book on the subject at this time. But I would like to try finding out where some of them came from and what they may be. Most of the coins I can find country names or things that give me a good idea where they are from but a few of them I'm at a loss for. Could anyone point me to a website that could help me with this?
He has a very good link on the front page that takes you to a whole world of different coin types, so very useful :high5:
Another good source is your local public library's copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins. In some of the earlier century volumes there are lists of common legends, with translations, and pictures of various features that help ID the country of origin.
