I have read that some of the 2009 Lincoln cents will be made on the original 95% copper planchet. What sets are 95% copper? Are they the proofs (all proofs?), satin mint sets, ect...?

I've seen a lot of threads addressing this for some time already.

Here's some info I put together a short time ago on the 95% copper 2009 Lincoln cents.

So, what I gathered from your threads is that the satin mint set coins will be 95% copper. What about the proofs? I haven't seen any mention of them.

I understood from the first link in that list of info that Proofs were 95% copper as well. I haven't seen much confirmation on the Satins and the recent update as to which day in October the release was is recent news I believe.

That's kind of what it sounds like but I have yet to see anything definitive. That's why I asked the question.

Hope this helps... The US Mint put the 4 piece 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial One Cent Proof sets on sale August 26th. They contain the 95% copper composition. It's definitive. It was known prior to the release day as the Mint had these details listed on the subscription pages. CoinUpdate and Mint News Blog were discussing Proof sets with 95% copper cents back as far as December 2008. It was probably even in the coin legislation if you can dig that up. The composition of 2009 Proof sets was also widely being discussed here in the CT forums for sometime. Just do a keyword search for '95% copper' and you can catch up on the conversations regarding Proofs in 95% copper.

Satin is another thing all together that I have not seen discussed (much) nor definitive in answer, however, I've pretty much only looked forward to the 4 and 5 piece proof sets of these coins unless we find out the Satins are ridiculously low mintages, then maybe I can be persuaded to buy some of those too.

So, then are all the proof cents 95% copper or only some of them?

ALL! All sets clad, sliver, chronicle whatever that is, and UNC P&D sets have 95%copper, 3% zinc, and 2% tin Lincoln Memorial cents.
Regular circulation, business strike, cents be the same as the 1986 thru 2009 cents. 99.2% zinc, .8% copper, with a pure copper plating.
