Hi, This is a 1985 lincoln cent that I came across in a bank roll. It appears in better shape than photos because it is zoomed in I thought I would post because of the toning, which isn't artificially toned. Is it worth anymore than face value? Any idea what the grade would be? The pictures are terrible so I understand if you cant tell anything:crying: Thanks, Henry
I zoomed in, Harry, and this coin is not worth more than face. The obv has corrosion "holes" in it in multiple areas and has wear. It would not grade and is AU 50ish on the obverse. Pretty toning which is why you noticed it, I assume.
Yep the toning is what I liked about it. I think the corrosion holes may be toning due to my lack of photography. Because it has no holes. I really liked it because of the green blue and purple toning. Thanks
It does have nice toning and would find a "keeper" spot in my collection but I doubt it will ever be worth more than face.
ok thanks for the advice. I have some mylar penny holders. should I put it in to help protect the toning.
I find them every week like this it's I find them every week like this it's probably from people's hand oils that they tone like this. I keep some but they must have perfect surfaces and be uniform both obv. and rev. Keep searching!
