I tried to edit the poll after realizing this board was around before 2002 but alas I could not figure it out. I even posted the question in the support forum with no responses. Can't really refute any of your 7 responses.
I just put that there for fun so those that really don't like being part of a poll could see the results.
I joined this one because i was reading the post, and new you guys were serious about helping people learn more. I haven't collected in over 20 years, but now I am trying to get my nephew inveloved and you folks are the best. I used another forum when this one was down for the weekend but I came right back. Thanks For All Of The Help Kent PS The reason 80% of the post are from new members is because we don't know anything.(speaking for myself only LOL)
I joined in 2006 to ask a question regarding an Iraqi Saddam medal I had and just stuck around to disagree with GD.
Oh, ok. It seems a couple of replies indicated that they joined before that date. Thx for the clarification.
I joined in 2004 but I'm thinking that I might have had a different id before that and lost it during one of my computer "disasters".
I joined in 2005 shortly after I discovered ASEs while researching silver and gold investments, and it rekindled my old interest in coins. I still think it's just about the most beautiful coin ever made even if it is fairly recent.
Art you've been here since 2002. And there are quite a few who have posted here since the beginning that are still here and post every day - but they, like Art, have a different User Name. There are several others as well, but only a few post very often any more. Some only post a few times a year. I can think of 3 early members that have passed. Some have left for various reasons and a few have just given up posting on forums. Back when Coin Talk first started, pretty much the entire crew of active members from the old Coin World forum migrated here when that forum closed down. Many also came from the old NumisAddict forum.
I joined in 2008 , when I joined I thought I was fairly knowledgable in numismatics , after a week I found out I was almost a newbie and learned more in my time here than all my years before . What I love about this forum are the great knowledgable and commpassionate people . rzage
too long ago to remember...and I was one of the CW members. IIRC I came a good bit before CW forum closed. Speedy
pretty wild how so many here are new members in the last year or two. wonder why?? maybe the forum is just growing rapidly and attracting a ton of new members?? or maybe people just move on after a year or two of fun here??
Wish more of the 'old guys' would hang around....i miss 'em. Nothing against you 'new' guys.....love you too.....
This is what I am trying to figure out because the PCGS forum seems to retain and equal amount of folks from all prior years where here according to the stats on the poll it's a predictable drop off.
