Both a warning and perhaps a good future investment...

    2020-W reverse Proof 5c.

I wrote about this problem a while back. Just about every one I've seen (over 300 because they are sent for grading and I'm searching for some at shows) is an IMPAIRED PROOF! We have graded only one 69. Only nine other coin were graded PR-67 or better. Their reverses come virtually perfect yet Jefferson's face is usually scraped. When looking for one of these in 69 or 70, don't rely 100% on ANY TPGS Grade :(.

Thanks for the heads up. Always nice to get an "Insiders" view.

So, what are your recommendations for those people who happen to find one? Should they be submitted to ICG for certification and attribution? Are there any specific instructions or requests that should be indicated on the submission form? TIA!

I agree. ive seen a lot of scuffing and I assume its because they are face down just after they are struck. Slide down that little track and get scuffs. I had a feeling that true 70s would be expensive... So I never sent mine.

Here is a close-up of the face. I don’t think it is impaired. I did not luck out.

I took another look at mine (through OGP) and I THINK I can see some scraping on the eyebrow.. but the plastic doesn't help. How else to keep it?

If you do not TIP and ROTATE a coin AT THE SAME TIME while you examine it you WILL miss defects. :(
