I can't afford any of their coins. Owned by Steven Contursi, owner of the 1787 Brasher Doubloon and the King of Siam Proof Set. Definitely high end. If you register on their web site, you'll receive a courtesy call from one of their reps. Nice folks, just too rich for my blood!

Their selection of coins is high end and seems very geared towards big money investors. While many of there coins are expensive and rare, I find most of their inventory to be lacking in originality and eye appeal. They are very nice when they call you on the phone though.

They make big dollars yet they can't even list their inventory online. There is still room for improvement.

Even stranger is that some time ago, they use to require special approval to view coins in their inventory over $25,000 (I think).

I don't think they do that anymore. I can see every coin in their inventory and I have never purchased a coin from them.

Steve Contursi and Don Kagin made the news recently in coin magazines. They are being sued by Bill Swoger.

I've never met Contursi or Kagin but Swoger was in the shop last winter. A nice guy and he knows his stuff for sure. Wrote a book that took him years to research. My boss has known him for years.

Not saying he's right or that Contursi and Kagin are wrong for the record but a brief chat with Swoger was like an adult talking to a 4 year old. I WAS the 4 year old.

Imagine it would be the same with Contursi or Kagin.

    Heavy duty stuff guys.

Yeah, I never really thought their prices were "wholesale!"
