I was determined to fill out some of my ike collection today and picked up a few, this one being the best The rest were picked up in mint sets Its a really nice clad specimen with lots of shine few defects. I should probably have it graded.
It has a peach or yellow tone, very slight. I though it was an artifact of the photgraphy, but then I looked at the coin again and so it was slightly tonned a peach yellow.
It would not be reasonably profitable to have this coin graded. I has too much wear and circulation marks to make it worthwhile. JMHO The
Want it graded? Buy it graded........waste of money to do it on your own. That coin of yours (lovely as it be) ain't worth the fees of submission IMHO......
Gotta agree with above comments! Although your coin may look great in hand, I don't feel it's gonna receive a high grade at all. Enjoy it but that's as far as that coin will take you, not worth spending money to have it graded as I'm pretty sure you'd be disappointed with the grade given.
Take a look on PCGS and NGC websites at the pictures of the graded 72D Ikes and see how many marks are on those coins compares to your's.
FWIW, I am realy not trying to make a profit on coins. If I get it graded, it would be for my personal satisfaction
If you do decide to send it in may I suggest ANACS ? Just as reliable for this coin as any of the other more costly grading services.
This coin will not grade high enough to make grading worthwhile. If you want a graded Ike, buy a graded Ike.
