Dombes principality coinage

    I'm quite sure not many of you know where the Dombes principality is.

    It's a small part of France nearby where I live, which was ruled by princes linked to the french royals in the 15 th, 16th and 17th centuries. As I collect their coins (they are quite rare right here, even more across the Atlantic ocean I guess), I've created a blog dedicated to them HERE

    Although it's writen in french, the pics and legends are readable for everyone, and the front page has an english summary for the convenience of our anglo-saxons friends.

    Merci Cucumbor pour la petite lecon d'histoire. Je crois en avoir entendu quelque part parler de La Dombes, mais jusqu'a present je ne savait vraiment pas de quoi il s'agissait.
    J'imagine que ces monnaies sont assez rares? Comme vous, j'apprecie les monnaies provenant de l'endroit ou j'habite, dans mon cas, du Duche de Nassau.

    Very interesting Cucumbor! If I ever come across one of these coins I'll know a bit more their history.
