It seems that 80% of the posts over the last month are from people who joined in 2009. I'm just curious what the drop off rate is. So take the poll on when you joined and lets see some percentages of how many folks regularly look at this forum and how long they have been here. Then to keep this alive post something you like about CT. I like the Recent Posts side bar.
I'm new. I like the ability to mark sub-forums as already read w/o marking the entire forum as being read. Helps me from missing the new stuff like I do on other forums. I also thought the thread of the week thing was cool, but that doesn't seem to work anymore.
I also thought that was cool, I'm guessing once Peter finishes all the upgrades that this will get back to normal. Another thing I like about this forum that most other forums don't have is when you click the e-mail links that it take you right to the last post you read. This save a lot of time and makes coming back more enjoyable.
I am not really sure, so I will post this then find out if I am right. Guess I was right, thanks, John
I like how willing people are to spend time helping others enjoy the hobby or just learn about something they had a question about! No one talks down to anyone who may ask a stupid question and if by the off chance a new member does it because they are not familiar with the site environment, others step up and make it right! Been around since 2006 and don't post as much as I use to but try to come around when I can.
I joined in July of 2006. I still check in every day, many days more than once. And I post pretty much every day too, but I don't go crazy with it, lol.
just a great bunch of folks willing to share their coin knowledge & post helpful hints & ideas on all aspects of coin collecting , besides its just a lot of fun meeting & talking with honest people : )
Comin' up to my two year anniverary on this forum. I started out slow and gradually became more confident in my ability to contribute. Folks here are very understanding and helpful. This site has been my safe harbour in turbulent times......:smile Oh, and one of the things I like best is to see how many of my 'buds" are online with me.
I also lurked for a while then finally joined this year. What I like about the CT forums is, most contributing members seem to honestly have fun with coins and they truly enjoy sharing that info with others here. Its not like that on all coin forums.
I joined this year. I joined as soon as I found out about this forum. I'm new to coin collecting, 2009 is my first full year
Many reasons for people joining and also dropping out. 1. Someone just wants to ask one question and then never comes back. 2. Someone joins, and as you know most coin collectors are on the elderly side, so they sort of pass on. I use that phrase due to my age also. 3. Lots of new interesest in coin collecting so more new members all the time. 4. More people on Earth so more coin collectors so more members. 5. It' free so many cheap people are looking for something to do free. That's me I guess. 6. Word spreads of a coin web site with lots and lots of great information and as long as I'm here, that is possible.:smile 7. You really needed a poll place or check spot for people that have been here since the 1800's:whistle:
