South Africa Half Pennies

    According to Numismaster.com and the Krause Publications World Coin Guide, the last year for South Africa Half Pennies was 1960. Today I was at a show and found some from 1967. Any info on this?

    Hello rushmore
    South Africa Half Pennies 1961 to 1964 1/2 cent brass, 1970 to 1976 1/2 cent bronze and 1979 and 1980 1/2 cent proof only. I found this in my old 2005 black book price book of world coins.

    As far as I know there were no 1/2 "cents" in 1967. The halfpenny was last used in 1960. Starting in 1961, S. Africa started using the rand, 100 cents for every rand.
