1888 Prussian 5 Mark

    I needed this for my German States collection, and did a trade with a well known CT member. It grades NGC MS-65. It has a nice strong strike.

    Terrific scan. I believe this is a one year type for Friedrich III who died soon after if I recall correctly.

    He ruled for 99 days. A Doctor made a mistake that turned out to be very deadly.

    200,000 pieces minted for the 5Mark. I'll be looking for the 2 Mark and the 10 and 20Mark gold pieces to complete the coins that have him on them.

    Now thats a nice coin, good trade

    Now thats a nice Preussen 5 Mark gutes Handwerk. I just love the old Prussian coins, what artist they were.
