I bought a role of LP3 from my bank today at face. but hear is the problem the role is face up on both ends . should i open and sell off about half of them or just keep the role sealed?
I would try to buy more of them if you can. If you get more, open one or two of the non head & tails rolls. It nice to have those for sale later on. I try to get as many as I can at different times if possible. They might come from different runs on the dies and you may find something there in different rolls.
Open it, as how do you know it's LP3 if you can't see a reverse? Sell open roll on fleabay, use proceeds from said sale to purchase a H/T roll.
.......of course there are collectors that look for government wrapped lincolns also. so the special wrapper can carry some weight.
Decisions , decisions, when it comes to rolls of the lp1, lp2 & lp3 I've got the same problem but because I did open 1box to check out the coins I'll takes Elaines advice and pop open those rolls, I think :mouth: :crying: :eat:
I got my mint rolls sets today, they were nice except for one thing. On one of the rolls the cent was scratched so badly in the rolling process the zinc underneath is visible. So they obviously had some issues with the rolling of the coins otherwise I wouldnt have got a scratched one on the end of the roll... I think it was the P roll. The P roll was also H/T, while the D roll was T/T.
Got 3 bricks of LP3 at the local bank today. The fedreal reserve are getting these out to the banks, found these at BOA. The LP# is everywhere, they will drop fast if you are a reseller, as I am not I just took 15,000 out of circulation, along with my 5 unopened from the mint. happy hunting!!!!!!!!
open them, in the end all they are going to do is take up space and unless graded high or errors, won't be worth more than a cent in the end.
LP3 Mint rolls Got my 5 boxes of LP3s yesterday and opened one to see what they look like and see if there are any errors. First coin I looked at in P roll has a die crack due East on the reverse and what looks like a die chip SE of "VDB on the obverse. That may even be a cud. Never having seen one of them, I bow to others with more experience.
I haven't even opened the boxes that they came in from the mint, so should I open the boxes and take a look or not. I just put them away when I get them so I don't and sometimes when I see the finds on the Lincolns it makes me want to open them, but I just can't seem to. Bob
Nice die clash Jello! The LP2 has a nice one also. I guess if you don't open them you will never know?
I have five boxes of LP2's and five boxes of LP3's. I just got the LP3's today. I'm keeping them in the white boxes and keeping the US mint invoices.
