I was verifying some straps at work friday when these caught my eye. I havent seen a series 1934 in any denomination at the bank for a while so i was stoked! As for the c note, im not really sure if its a keeper, but its in such nice condition I couldnt resist. The pics are a bit misleading, I'd give it a VF-XF rough eyeball. What do you guys think? Is the 100 a keeper or spender?
The $50 Chicago note is a very cool find these days..even in VG8 it is worth $60...keeper if you can afford to to? 8,675,000 printed The $100 I would spend unless it was Gem...10,240,000 printed rickieB
Nice notes! The premium on the $100 is going to be very small with a CHCU listed at $200. There were over 10M printed so it should be common. That said, condition is really nice so if you can afford to hold it, why not? You may find someone looking for a 69C - L that has something you need in trade. I consider notes like these as nice little saving funds for rainy days! The $50 is also a small premium but I'd keep it! Love the notes from the 30's!!! Congrats on the nice finds! Darryl
Thanks guys! Yeah im thinking ill just reintroduce the 100 back into circ, the added 100 bucks in the old bank account is always welcome. Again, thanks!
And rickie, after reading your thread on your recent experience spending a $2 bill, im going to buy all my vault tellers 2's my next day at work and take them out on the town. I was laughing out loud reading that! Sad and hillarious at the same time!
I would keep both if able to. With attrition, it should become worth more over time. Especially in this economy where a lot of older stuff is going back into the wild.
That was funny, but it did not happen to me...a co-worker sent that to me as it happened to a friend of his. He knows I collect PM... Thanks for reading it... RickieB
