    Updated - Pictures added below:

Was wondering if you could help me with the ID of these coins I just picked up. I don't have much in the way of references to ID hammered coins. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx to DCH I looked around and found the following:

First Group Prague Groschen - Left and Right are Bohemia Wenceslas III 1378 1419 - Middle Wenzel II 1278-1305

Fluer d lise and english rose in cote of arms with orb on the other side, 23mm

Poland or Austria? Right has 1568 and Bottom has 1684 dates. Left and right 17mm. Top 17mm bottom 15mm

Last Group think bottom right may be another polish coin but others have me stumped,

If you need better pictures of any of the coins let me know. Thank you very much for any assistance you may be able to give.

Wow DCH THANX! You must be a walking encyclopedia. What is your method for identifying things so quickly. Do you just know through experience or do you have refernences that help you.

I just bought thse off the bay for $27 cuz I thought they were interesting and it looks like a few might even be worth some money based on a few of the examples you found. That Bishops of Maguelonne crusade coin is especially interesting.

    Thanx again!

This is a jeton made by Hans Krauwinckel. It's a Rose and Orb issue of Nuremburg made in the mid-17th Century.

    Kindest Regards,

    Clive.

Reference books make it possible-- I had eight books on my desk for this bunch.

Experience/luck make it fast--Experience to know which book.

Luck to find and recognize it in the book. For example, the Maguelonne piece was in a book with 10,000+ pictures, 3 of which were relevant.

'Cut coin', bottom left last group of four--I think this is an Austrian Pfennig, probably Albrecht IV or V, early 1400's.
