Not a whole lot of detail left to go on. Just a few letters and hints of detail present. Very thin, shape is like coin listed in red book under pre-federal issues (shilling). Anyone recognize some detail that would indicate what my mystery coin is?
It looks like a medieval hammered European coin of some sort. I don't think it is English because they would usually have a cross or the Royal Coat of Arms on the reverse...
I think the coin sits like this. My gut tells me it is from the Netherlands, but I'm not sure of the denomination. But it may be a duit of some kind. Don't have the books for older copper, just gold and silver

Thank You very much for the info. I looked at coin from ebay and it does look very similiar at least on one side. I've contacted the dealer to see if he will look at my scans and see if it is indeed the same type of coin. I've had the coin for seven or eight years but was never able to find out much about it. This has worked so well I've decided to post pictures of a few other old coins I have little info. on. Thanks to all you responded to my post.
