I was wondering.. do any of you just go straight through ebay's u.s coin listing and go from page to page looking for good coins and deals? I would gather some would stock up on inventory this way, but I would also think rarely comes a time where you'd find a steal. Have any of you ever had much luck finding a real good coin you like for a good deal via just scrolling from page to page on ebay?
I have found some I think were bargains, but I usually look at certain types of coins like Half Dollars and then scroll through. My only allows for bargains so i miss out on alot because I would not spend a couple of extra bucks. Once i bid that is it I put my amx and wait and see. Good Luck.
I used to do this and it worked, now it seems that eBay is full of snipers, what looks like a deal, turns out not to be one in the end. For this reason, I hardly look for "steals" on the Bay anymore, it is not worth my time. I simply bid the most I would pay for it, and turn away. If you want to test this, I would say find anything there worth more than $100, and for the week it looks like it might sell for $15, then with 7 sec. left, it jumps to $88, and with 1sec. left it goes to $101.17, or something like that. not for me anymore. Teletrade or HA, is more my style. Thanks, John
I use to but now I look for good buys on proxibid auctions. You will find more slabed NCG and PCGS coins and sometimes you can get them for a real good price. Bob
Every week I have my searches I dew and I always find great stuff squirreled away. Rarely a week goes by that I don't get a great deal on something or another. :goofer: Ribbit
Just back from the local farmer's market and tramped through the neighborhood yard sales day on the way home. Lots of great stuff but no coins. Folks wanted to buy my Demo Morgan! But I love my neighbors. Didn't even want to dupe them. They all seem to be good folk....and they know where I live. Now....FeeBay!!!!!! Well, I look around there.
I try to make my searches as specific as possible. I don't have the patience to go through lots of pages to search for a coin I might want.
