I came across this in my pocket change and have no idea what this is, can someone help me? Thanks itsallngoodtime
Quick, run and rinse off your fingers if you touched it. That is that famous invader from outer space called corrosion or Sulfating. Aliens do that to try to take over our monitary system and make us all end up with green fingers when we touch them.:smile The best thing to do is find an alien, slip it in his pocket, RUN. :goof: Or just spend it if anyone will take it.
Well, I can't be 100% certain, but my vast numismatic experience suggests this MAY be a 1957-d Lincoln penny. Seriously though, I'm trying to look past the obvious corrosion on the reverse. The [PLU]ribus, the [O]ne, and the [AME]rica suggest something else interesting may be going on with this coin. Possibly a "capped die/strike through" error, but I'm not sure. I would think a strike through would show a more uniform "blurryness" of detail. Unfortunately, the corrosion negates any real value...whatever it is...imho.
