Just bought these on ebay. Came out to $12 after shipping which I figure isn't too bad since it's $10 in silver. Novice collector and first ebay purchase, let me know how I did, grade, value. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280387398671#ht_500wt_1182 Thanks for any opinions and feedback
You did well, for the price...however you should maybe consider waiting a little longer and maybe buying one nicer walking, or barber like you could get a nice BU Walker for around $40.00...think about it, but good buy
I didn't really care about the walker since I have found 1 roll searching already and hope to find many more but I really wanted a barber since I don't expect I'll be finding one any time soon.
He meant he found 1 in a roll I believe :smile But I think you did well in terms of melt value, plus the barber's always fun to have in any collection
$12 for both is a good deal. Some dealers at the ANA were asking $10 to $12 for common Barber halves with full rims...
Yeah, I don't know what's up with the price of barber halves (and quarters for that matter). On most of the ebay wannabe sites that have auctions with no bidders, you can't touch a barber half for under $7. Of course, I believe this to be part of a much bigger conspiracy.... BTW, 1917-S is a good date for a Walker. But it does seem to be a slickie - still good price overall.
I see the WL as AG. I believe the Barber will go VG. Of course if the Barber turns out to be cleaned then it drops back to bullion value. I still think you did well.
