Hello. I'm curious where I could find good sources of currency. Besides Don C. Kelly's website, Heritage, and eBay, I don't really know of anything else except for some local shops. Thanks.
Go here: http://www.pcdaonline.com, and choose "Alphabetical Listing of Members." Also, a publication such as Bank Note Reporter has a good listings of various dealers.
Try proxibid and search auctions for currency. I've see everything from old civil war currency to silver and gold notes as well as old states bank notes. You may have to go to proxibid.com not sure? I just looked up pescoauctions.com and proxibid just comes up and I search up coming auctions for coins and currency, there are alot of auctions there. Hope this helps itsallngoodtime Bob
It will depend what you are looking for. Some dealers specialize in Nationals, some in small size, some in world notes, etc. Tell us what you are looking for and we may be able to tell you who to talk to.
hey klunky, as stated before, many dealers specialize in one area or another. for instance, i specialize in small size U.S. errors, autographs, uncut sheets, fancy numbers & especially $2.00 federal reserve notes. others specialize in nationals or type notes. some do both large and small size, so it would help greatly to know which direction your collection is headed. it would be much easier to give you "directions"
I'm not too big on Nationals, Colonial, Confederate, Fractional, MPC, etc. Some of the items on my current list are small FRBN's from Kansas City...slabbed uncirculated. 1899 Black Eagle Silver Cert...slabbed AU-UNC. 1918 $1 FRBN Kansas City...slabbed UNC. Also looking at getting a more common(cheaper) small $500 note...slabbed XF-AU. I also collect modern notes usually not slabbed, UNC, and I try to buy 2-3 in consecutive order. I've had pretty good luck with that on eBay. Any advice would be great. Thanks.
