Pennies with animals on them?

I want to find some pennies with animals on them, or anything unusual a 6 year old boy would find cool, where is a good place to start. I want nice coins, but nothing expensive. I found a bahamas with the Star fish on it in a bank roll and that peeked my curiousity. I am not trying to put together sets I am just looking for a variety of pennies or others that might be cheap. Here is a kinda nice set from the British Virgin islands..And of course there are the British Farthing, old Irish republic coins and those wonderful Liberian $5 Animal series. These are nice and inexpensive. :whistle: Traci

 

Current Australian coinage all have animals on them except the 2 dollar coin. I can send them to you if interested.

 

As for animals representation,my preference goes to Ireland republic coins

Until 2001. Since then, Ireland has used the harp only. Somewhat dull, and certainly animal-less.

Another option from around here would be Slovenia: All pre-euro circulation coins, and two of the current denominations, have animals.

Norway during the 1960's issued awesome coins with animals including a squirrel on the 1 ore coin.

There are also lots of coins with people that acted more like animals - but lets leave it at that.

 

Oh here are a couple of the Liberian coins. A kid would just love these, I got them for $1 USD each.
