Hey, hope everyone is fine. This is one of my coin collection and having a hard time to grade as i consider myself a beginner in this matter. If anyone could kindly grade it and post the value if possible. Most of my collection is old Egyptian coins as well as old Arab coins, with a few slightly old European coins. Thank you in advance.

    Cheers,

I would agree with VF-EF. Nice coin. The date looks like 10th year of reign, so would be about 1885 rather than 1876.

    Acanthite,
Thank you very much for your post, but what do you mean by 10th year of reign?.

Thank you Jello for your input.

On the obverse of your coin (first picture), the number below the three stars at the top is 10. This refers to the year the coin was minted within the reign of Sultan Abdulhamid II, which started in AH 1293 (1876 AD).

Really appreciate your help, is there any minted coins on 1876 and and would it be of more value?. Thank you for sharing your information.

    Cheers,

Afwan. There are some denominations that were minted in AH 1293 year 1, which is the same as 1876. They are:

    10 para
    20 para
    1 qirsh
    20 qirsh
    50 and 100 qirsh (gold)

There may be others that Krause does not list. All of these run over a hundred to over a thousand dollars in XF except for the silver 1 qirsh of Abdul Hamid II, which is relatively cheap and I see them come up for sale occasionally. However, there are two 1 qirsh pieces for this year. The other has the toughra of the previous sultan (Murad V) and is very rare.
