Great coins. I'm new to collecting. Can you tell me more about toning? How it happens? is it possible to find them in non proofs? If so, what do u look for when searching?
Yes toning happens with both Proof and UNC coins. Here is an some articles for you to read. http://boards.collectors-society.co...&Words=toning&topic=0&Search=true#Post1235162 http://boards.collectors-society.co...&Words=toning&topic=0&Search=true#Post1399070 If so, what do u look for when searching? I look for natural toning and I buy what tripps my trigger. Eye appeal is the most important concept for toned coins. You need to learn more about NT (Natural Toning) & AT (Artifical Toning) but you buy any toned coins. These coins can bring high premium over coins not toned.

Schatzy, those are some great looking dimes, in fact I'm thinking of putting together a small collection. I choose the second from the top but I like them all. I already have a couple pages of dimes but mine would be so much better if they looked like those so I will be adding to them. thx for the links above, they will be good reading!!
