The worse part of CT being down is going over to CU and reading some of the stuff they post about CT... there's some angry people over there!

    I agree.
    I was suffering acute withdrawal.
    Someone forget to renew?

More importantly, if it costs money shouldn't we users be kicking in something for the tab?

And just for my info, what's CU?

I've been to CoinPeople but it's rather dead over there.
Plus in the eBay Coin Chatroom only about 25% of the talk deals with coins. And the eBay Coin Discussion Board is rather slow.

It was a good thing the Yanks-Red Sox game was on last night or I would have had serious withdrawl issues.....

CU is Collectors' Universe -- the PCGS forum. Not always the friendliest gang in the world.

I second everyone else's relief that CoinTalk is back.

My Cointalk addiction is superseded only by my coin/paper addiction. I'm soooo glad you are back!!

Great to see CoinTalk back! I too tried other coin sites but it just wasn't the same.

    Pretty good game too :D

I was on when it went down and I kept checking to see if it had come back yet and ended up going to bed with no CoinTalk. :( I even called Peter and told him it was down, just in case he didn't know, but that didn't work either. :goofer:

    I'm glad it's back! :thumb:

    Ribbit :)

I had to resort to reading the opinion column of our local newspaper website. Every subject turns to politics...gardening, fishing, picnicking, travel. Not my style!!! Thank you Lord for bringing back coin talk!!!

Yes, I agree!! A day without CoinTalk is like a day without sunshine. Oh, I think I'll have some orange juice. :D

What did happen? Did the forum get hacked or moved to a new host or something?

My CT credits seem safe, so I guess we were not hacked... Glad CT is back up and running. A BIG THANK YOU to whomever fixed things so quickly as I had read in some thread that Peter was traveling recently. I thought with him away this might go on for days unless a mod or admin could intervene.

By the way, to an earlier comment, yes we can all donate and become CT supporters. There is usually a donation bar in the right column and there is also a link to the support page in the USER CP.

No doubt. It was there early yesterday morning and then down until late last night. I was surprised to see it back this morning. It's hard to believe the whole site gets wiped out that easy for that many hours at a time with no warning. At least it's back.:eek:hya:
