I am curious. In everyone's opinion, what denomination do you think yields the best results and why?

Off topic a bit, but you can use a stereo microscope to look through all denominations for valuable coins. There are books that show what to look for and values.

    Have fun!

Funny you should ask this because on Monday I went to the bank to buy 2 money orders for some purchases and paid for them with a check. I checked my balance on Tues am and they debited the amount out as well as cashed my check. I went into the bank to square it away and noticed that the girl was checking in coins while they were trying to straighten out my mess. The dimes were in the plastic semi-clear rolls and looking at them from the outside I noticed that one of them had what I thought was 4 all silver edge coins. I asked the teller if I could buy that roll and she sold them to me. There were 7 1964's in it, not 4, so I was happy with that and they then also straighted out the $300 mess they made as well. I'll take the $7 for my time, now if they just had some cuter tellers...j/k..lol

Depends on what you mean by best results. For errors, I would say cents. For silver I would say halves. It also depends on the ammount of $$ you can have tied up at one time.

I think halves yield the best monetary return, but cents are fun when you find wheats.

Well it looks like most people prefer the halves. I have to agree with Dan's statement. Halves yield the best monetary rewards, but, cents are a ton of fun! Between wheaties and errors I really enjoy searching pennies.

I'd say quarters are the least fun, because you never really find anything of significant value

On a budget, and for errors, cents. Great fun.

However, I voted for halves because 1) there is still a lot of silver to be found in them....I don't think the general public knows that 65 - 70 is 40% silver, and 2) when you find one, the reward is great. How much is a silver dime worth vs. a silver half?
I've been roll searching halves for about 3 months and have found over 100 silver coins (most 40%), that is quite significant in my mind...

I believe you can find good things from everything... except quarters, that will rarely yield anything good.
