I see no evidence that the MS62 example above has been cleaned. And I will repeat my question regarding the cleaned ANACS one you asked about: "You already indicated you would be buying a PCGS one, which it is not. And it's been cleaned. Why even ask?"
I'm just gathering information. I'm not buying an ANACS, I just want to see what some of you see a cleaned coin as.
Say what? That coin looks very original, it still has a good amount of luster and would be a nice coin to own. With your budget buy a better coin, look at 1928 peace dollars in MS-64. Buy the best coin you have budget for.
Hello again BNB, I just visited your public profile & I see that a few others beat me there I just wanted to see where you were located geographically so we could maybe recommend some coin shows in your area. For security, don't tell us all where you live but you can visit http://www.coinshows.com and possibly find some coin shows scheduled in your area. IMO you should look at many PCGS and NGC graded coins. You can focus on the coins you like & see what prices are being paid. Just have fun. Very best regards, collect89
There's a coin show in Arcadia this weekend, not too bad of a show and you'll see thousands of decent coins there. And a really big show at the Long Beach Convention Center Sept 10-12. I'll be at both of them trying to find some nice coins
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&ssPageName=ADME:L:COSI:US:1123#ht_500wt_1078 Just got that off ebay for $40.. wow, not bad a deal at all i'd say from a purely collector standpoint. I've always wanted to own a few mercury dimes and an indian head.. this should satisfy my collector needs.
'09 Lincoln Commemorative $1 piece. $74 An old Morgan I had. Nothing special. (And don't worry about its holder, I'm going to change that eventually) I love this $100 silver piece. Regardless if it's worthless, I love it.
BNB I hate to tell you but the Lincoln Commemorative you paid $74 for will be sold again by the mint for $55 in a set with the 4 Lincoln bicentennial cents. So for $20 less you would have a set that is limited to 50,000. Good luck on your coins BTW, it sounds like you enjoy them now that you see how wonderful they can be. Now only if you saw some of the coins I talked about, Lol.
I know, and I know even when I post all the pictures eventually something will be wrong with the price, maybe a scratch or something where it's going to get flagged but hey... we can't be perfect. all i know is i aint payin retail no more especially after getting this lincoln. the littler purchases i might not mind paying a little more for, but when it comes to 6-1,000+ dollars, yeah, then i'm at the bargaining table.
*******. You're a troll and man, I don't think I like you or your attitude at all. Being from Brooklyn, your combative attitude definitely makes sense. Comes with the territory I guess. I have family from Queens and they can be the same way. It's such a crappy demeanor. Belittling others, pointing out their flaws and almost making a mockery out of them because they don't know exactly what you know. Pathetic if you ask me. It seems as if I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't with you, jerk. Btw, I got that you were testing me before. I guess you're trying to "get me" huh?
BnB the thing is I find the best prices lately have been straight from the mint, you get to inspect the coins and return them if they don't meet the standards. BTW if you have a redbook look up the 1918 silver Illinois Centennial coin. It has Lincoln too on it and is 90 years old. The price though may disappoint you and they only made 100,000 of those.
Geography hasn't a thing to do with it. You just run too fast and haven't listened to anyone's advice to your detriment so it's become comedy. Peace out.
Right, actually, wrong. I have listened to people's advice so that generalization I don't think applies. Some of these purchases were based strictly off people's advice from this forum. And this shouldn't be comedy to you. Laughing at another's expense? I find that rude. Look maybe I don't follow exactly everything but I feel I do most, I can be kind of independent sure.. but that doesn't mean I'm not listening to the advice given. I just want to act now in some cases and the true test for me is if I could get this right so I'm willing to risk some of this money trying.
