Sounds reasonable to me Since the original poster is talking about a slabbed 70 coin... unless you were able to examine the raw coin IN PERSON before buying and felt comfortable grading it yourself there on the spot, and taking into account the fact (i believe it is a fact anyway) that you cannot find either the BU or Proof coin now (sight unseen) for less than about $70 (except Ebay if your lucky bidding)...in which case you may get a perfect coin or you may get a coin which is less than perfect to some unknown degree... why not spend $25 or so more to guarantee a graded 'perfect' coin? Data: Coast to Coast Coin August 'Rare Coin Monthly', $69.95 for either BU or Proof (raw ungraded) - i got this catalog in the mail sometime in July so they may have raised the price by now too. Ebay, 08 18 2009 (just glancing at my search results) --> 1 raw BU currently bidding (with almost 2 days to go) for $49 (best price) The rest are from about $55 to $75 dollars graded or not, including mostly MS69s and 1 'NGC PF 70 UC' currently bidding at $74 with 5 hours to go. So, i'd say that it might be possible to get one on Ebay PF70 for less than $100, but otherwise for ungraded raw coins, who knows sight unseen if Ebay sellers are just unloading the less than perfect ones they got in their mint order. I'd say better to spend $69 from Coast to Coast or whoever else might have some in stock as I would expect that at least a retail dealer would hopefully not be selling coins that came with too many defects right from the mint (the 1 BU & 1 Proof i got from them months ago for about $40 each are b-a-utiful!). And if you wanted a guaranteed (at least according to the grading company) perfect coin, I dont think $100 is really that unreasonable. K7
