Struck at Berytus in 208 AD, this coin was issued to commemorate the decennalia of Caracalla's elevation to the title of Augustus. Obverse shows confronted busts of Caracalla and his father Septimius Severus. Reverse exhibits a tetrastyle temple including Astarte standing and holding a scepter, being crowned by Nike standing on a short column. It weighs 8.78 g. Rouvier 555. AUB 86. I only need to clean it a little bit, since I received the coin today. Hope you like it.

Neat coin! I have a single rather rough confronted bust of Caracalla and Domna.

Nice one! Way nicer than mine - I found it in my local dealer's junk box for $4, which may be $2.95 too much. It is green - about the only thing going for it:

It looks good now. If you clean it, please don't ruin it.

Here's a quick clear photo at lamp light. I only used tooth picks and soft tooth brush. Hope it's a little better. ClearSep.JPG

I think it looks fine, attractive highlighting patina. Too much cleaning and you might lose it.
