Sorry Crustycoins, I thought anybody that sent there coins for pictures was crazy. Now that I have tried taking pics, I see a problem. What I thought was a very good camera. So these few examples of my photography expertise will have to do for now. I will get smarter, I just don't know when.....lol Escudo U.S. 1910 German 1876 Mexican 1948 U.S. 1881
Taking great pictures is an art, there are some books on the subject. One of these days I'll buy one. Most people use some type of photo editing software.
I've got the camera but now I need to work on lighting. :goofer: All you can dew is take it one puddle at a time. Ribbit
I understand and yes I was just looking for exactly what you did which was to show what you collect. Very impressive stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Okay, you need to learn how to use that camera, because we need to see those beautiful coins up close.
Very nice gold!! Also the 2nd to the last one going down aka aztec coin is really known as, (listed below) If you have the time, the link teaches how to say it, may be easy for some harder for others, I fall with the others. Name: Cuauhtemoc Phonetic Pronunciation: kwou-TAY-mahk http://inogolo.com/pronunciation/Cuauhtemoc
Top three are 4 escudo, next six are 8 escudo and the bottom is a two escudo. The Cuauhtemoc is one of my favorite mexican and I have several 47 and 48's. I really never even thought about a problem taking pictures of them. I will learn this winter when it gets colder.
I will have to watch that auction, fair coin. Nice picture taking but my quick evaluation process, there should be three buttons across the shoulder, shows one. The reverse gets worn in the middle first, shows some wear. Overall a fair coin. I would like to compare notes with anybody that collects these.....
Why waste time and money on photo books and cameras. You could just send me all your coins and I'll take the photos for you. Of course no return policy. But I would send you the photos. :smile:thumb: Those are some nice coins you have there.
These are just a part of my collection. No sence in taking more pictures untill I learn how to do it properly. These pictures make them look like crap. :headbang: Never really sell any so have not tried to take pictures before.
Here is a link to a book specifically for coin photography by Mark Goodman. He is a member over on the PCGS forums and usually answers any questions. Have you ever heard of a die break in a 8 escudo? It was explained to me that when the coin was being made the die actually pulled a chunk out of the face of the coin. I think its one of the 1803/4. Have seen a lot of 8 escudo and never seen this before. Coin looks authentic, but the auction went cheap for this coin, $600 a few years ago. I still like the coin though.
