No DDO's recorded for this date in VV. I think MD is the culprit.

1974 is a difficult year to pinpoint a DDO. Class of doubling can be confused with the Type 1 ODV. For that reason, I don't look for DDOs for this date.

Neither the large or small date varieties are hard the master die was switched mid-year so neither is rare. Each variety can be found from circulation. The small dates seem to be slightly less common than the large dates.
The large and small dates do not differ significantly from each other.

Thanks. Still too blurry. To identify this as a DDO, you will need very crisp photos.

Thanks Bradford! These are better. Two things I am looking at on your coin relative to the pictures at Wexler's site. The G and the O. Look closely at the DDO pictures and compare them to yours. The G is perhaps the more obvious letter difference. Trace the inner shape of the G in the photo and then on your coin. They are different. The shape of the O on your coin (as with the G), look correct. But the O in the photo for the listing has a shape, kind of like a face; wider at the top and narrower at the bottom (e.g., the jawline). I don't see the dominant scratch by the G either. Have another look at your coin, as having it in hand, may reveal something the photo isn't capturing. Good luck!!
