    Hi,
    Welcome to the Forum! :D
Well the first 2 things to do would be to seen what mintmrk it has and also post a photo.

Mintmark is located between the head and date.

I also have a 1856 gold seated liberty with no mint marks just a D beside the 2.5 if yours had a mint mark it would be under the eagles tallons where he is sitting on the olive branch, you can look for a letter under there.I still have not recieved a straight answer as to the worth,a collector whom owns a store said i hit the jackpot and sent me 2 hours away to get it appraised,i got their after phoning in advance to let them know im coming and the guy had left, and his partner offered me 150.00 .So i would like to know its worth also,it looks to be in excellent condition and i have it protected, any intrested collectors can make me a reasonable offer, and i will ask other posts if they feel thats fair. Thanks for your time.

We would really need a clear picture of both the front and back before we can say how much it's worth. Condition is everything with these coins...and without a picture there is no way to grade the condition.

I think I can safely say that if authentic, it is worth more than $150.
