Okay now this coin has so many things going on that it gave me a headache. Most can be attributed to stains but the eye, hair on back of neck and dome on reverse I don't believe are just to name a few. I'm not even sure where to start so please look at pics and if you need more I am more than happy to load them for the help forum has given me.

Reverse resembles the coin illustrated on PCGS site variety but obverse is different as it appears doubled as well as the hair at base of the neck which don't match up with the example. In Wexler's obverse matched WDDO-003 by notches on RTY of Liberty but could not tell if markers on date were the right ones due to the finish.

Still learning. I knew about the Formative Years' cent 'extra fingers' variety. Did not know there was a variety listed for the Professional Life coin as well.

Must be because in my excitement the date variety I posted about is for FY not PY lincoln....bummer...lol
But why is the coin on PCGS a variety so difficult to look up?

I'm not seeing anything truly special on this coin. All I see is what is stated above.

I'm not a variety collector so I don't look them up.

You made my day potty dollar. That I was able to discern some information means I did learn a few things...:)

    A couple of things:

    1. I don't see a match for 001-003. The TY do not appear the same as your specimen.
    2. I see some added thickness to the TY on your specimen as well as the Y not being proportionally balanced. Unlike the 001-003, your specimen has a thicker left branch of the Y while the other attributed ones are thicker on the right branch. Also, the base of the TY are different on your specimen. I think it's a minor DDO, just not listed by Wexler or Coppercoins.

Nothing at Variety Vista either. It's an unattributed minor DDO.

This coin has a number of things from die chips, stains. Pic I did not post was one where die chip was struck on Lincolns zipper area and I didn't want to offend anyone.

The DDO is the more significant attribute of the coin. Fun find!
