1956d die deterioration??

    It’s a normal strike and there’s nothing worn about nothing. Flip it over and see the explanation underneath, the deepest cavity on the opposite side. When the pressure on these strikes falls, the EPU doesn’t take as well as otherwise. We see this a lot on the later 1950s cents, even in the flattening-down of the O in ONE. Keep your eyes open, especially on that decade, and you’ll bump into it more, you’re a cinch.
