I nabbed 20 rolls of halves today, found a 2005D half. My question is this, I haven't seen anything newer than 2002, Is this regular issue, or a proof?

    any info appreciated

It's a regular issue. It is not made for regular circulation, just sold in, Mints sets and by the bag, from the US Mint. Somebody must of bought a bag and is spending them.

I kinda of thought that, but you never know. I will keep it because it's the first one I have found.

    thanks

Yeah, keep it, of course. I've come across about six or eight 2003-P and 2003-D halves in only one group of rolls I searched about 6 weeks ago. I kept the nicest of each and they are now in my Dansco album. I still don't have either 2002 and don't remember ever having seen any.

I haven't been so lucky, but I have heard of people who purposely spend 2003, 2004, and 2005 JFK's just to promote numismatics.

    :) :)

In the box I was searching yesterday I found all sorts of wierd stuff. I found 3 Bicentennial Proofs, one Bincentennial that has me baffled, and a whole roll of 2005-D Kennedys. Didn't get any old silver, but I was still pretty happy with that box.
