Thank you krispy, I was trying to get a link from "coin update coins" , just need to learn a little more:desk:
I know what you mean, ordered the Lincoln cent lp-3 this week & they said would ship 8/17 now their site says 8/30 . I think they are overwhelmed at the Mint with orders.
I want to order mine that is for sure! I have been waiting, and waiting, skipped out on all the other sets, and hope that I can flip this set, and make some good return on it as well
Like the Lincoln lp-1 cent I think this Chronicle set will be an excellent set to flip, with a low mintage hope you can get more than one set : )
Considering all of these coins have already been released either as commemoratives or part of a proof set, what is the appeal here? I understand if you didn't get them the first time around but if for instance you already have three Lincoln proof dollars, 5 clad proof sets with the pennies, and 5 silver sets again with the pennies, what would be different about the chronicle set? What am I missing here????
I think the low mintage of the Lincoln silver dollar and the fact it sold out in such a short time ( 13 days I believe) makes it a desirable coin to own , also factor in the most liked & admired President in U. S. history, I think you can see the collectability of the Lincoln sets , especially the Lincoln Silver Dollar. I know that I only bought one silver dollar to check it out & before I could order more it had sold out. I hope when the Chronicle set comes out I can and will order as many sets as I can , I think this will be a good investment now & in the future.
I think because of the Mints not making the American Silver Eagle Proof yet & possibly ending its run , the Lincoln proof dollar might be a sleeper this year because of its limited mintage, this would be good for collectors and sellers & yes if fliping is your game a coooooool way to make a few bucks.
The cheesy reproduction of the Gettysburg Address? Or maybe the official Certificate of Authenticity complete with hologram? Seriously, though, this will be the definitive Lincoln set this year, the 200th anniversary of his birth. I hope they are packaged accordingly because if it's the standard 2009 copper cent plastic case and a proof dollar in an air-tite, then all the things you mentioned will be true and the set will be kind of pointless. It will also be the last chance to get the Lincoln proof silver dollar, and there are only 50,000 of those that remain unsold. I'm interested for the proof dollar + the pennies since I didn't order any other proof sets this year with pennies in it. I think there are people who don't collect yearly sets who will be interested in the 2009 Lincoln coins, and IMO this set (depending on the packaging) will, in future years, always be in demand.
I agree razor I also collect silver proof sets & look forward to the Lincoln Chronicle set, again I'll try to show a link which explains this set http://coins.coinupdate.com/lincoln-coin-and-chronicles-set/
I read today that the Lincoln Chronicle Set will be selling for $ 55.95 & the set will include a reproduction of the Gettysburg Address along with an image of Lincoln and a copy of his signature. The coins will be housed in a hard cover slip case & all coins will be encased in plastic and removable & of course come with a cert. of authenticity we'll see , all I can say is get ready , get set & order hurry up I'am tired of waiting:crying:
TODAY IS THE DAY!!!! 12 noon $55.95 I think. Only 50,000 being minted. US MINT 1-800-872-6468 One per household limit. Please please save me mine. zeke

There will be CTers that will do the same thing. I guess you can call it capitalism. But $6oo+ is rediculous. Maybe not 20 years from nowthough.
Ijust wanted to comment about the total number of chronicle sets. Seems a shame real collectors will miss out on the mint price. I wonder what the odds are/were on getting a set out of all who have tried and those who were to late. My guess would be a conservative 500 to 1. What's your guess?
Yeah it's fine to resell for profit but I dislike the jacked up prices when you know they don't even have them to deliver yet. Wish the auction sites wouldn't allow sellers to list like this knowing they haven't got the item to deliver. It's uneccessary no matter the effect or how the values work out later on.
Started calling at 12 noon ET & placed my order at 1:20 ET :hail: can't wait to receive , a real keeper for me
