I'm just getting the feeling that ebay is not the best location to find Eisenhower Dollars are decent prices without inflation. If I want to really start up a quality colleciton of Eisenhowser Dollars, these fly below the radar for must dealers, and COVID-19 has shut down in person shares. I don't think you can get rolls of Ikes from banks? Anyone have any ideas?
It's eBay Great Collections will have graded ones, but if you're looking for close to face value you wont really find any at the auction houses
There was a "We buy Gold" place that had them in stock, brown, blue, and clad circ. I wanted to cherry pick but he said no way. I think he said $1.25 each? He alleges he had a more regular customer and he got them for Vegas maybe? I dunno. A dealer at a local show had a "baton" of maybe 500 wrapped up tight in newspaper and tape. I've seen lots at the local shows, blue & red bi-centennial sets, blues and browns, graded and raw. Depending on your comfort level a show is probably your best bet.
Personally I'd say the best bet if you want a set of them is to just buy it complete in the album. Probably you can find it, BU and proofs 32 coins for $200-$250... . $275 tops. This will work out to $6 or $8 a coin roughly not counting the album value. But you'd be hard pressed to put it together with browns and blues and bicentennial's and the mint sets to put it together yourself in the same condition.. cheaper. Most of them are putting those sets together out of the stuff the shops buy from sellers for "face value" or silver melt ect and stale inventory so they are making money on it by piecing sets together. You could do it yourself by buying it all of course. If you do find ikes at banks they won't be BU.
