Don't blame the Mint, they gave the collector market exactly what it asked for. The collectors complained bitterly about the Mint cutting off the sales of the LP1 rolls at an "arbitrary" 100K sets. So the Mint gave them what they wanted and didn't set an arbitrary maximum mintage figure. Now the collectors are complaining because the Mint DIDN'T cut off sales.
I would argue the actual collectors are fine with no limit and the short term investment/deal/sales folks are the ones complaining.
Call it a hunch, but I think the Mint might surprise everyone with another short run on LP-3, they will be gearing up for all the holiday releases, where they really hope to cash in. JMHO.
You're probably right because I bought one instead of 10. That pretty much guarantees it for you guys.
Since I got slammed by not buying the Harrison rolls because everyone said at the time that it was dog, I'm going to state for the record that the LP3 will be a dog too. Please don't buy them and I will corner the market.
I ordered 5 rolls yesterday and got an email today saying it had been cancelled. Turns out I had signed up for a subscription and forgot about it (or might have blacked it out along with everying to do with LP-2). I called today and they processed my order and are shipping them next week. That pretty much guarantees that they will over-sell them and they will be worth little. Oh well, no guts no glory.
Why on earth would they cancel an order because you have a subscription? I've got subscriptions and have placed orders after the fact and have never experianced cancellation. Something stinks....
There is a limit of 5 sets per household. If your subscription is for 5 sets, then that is why they cancelled your latest order.
