Well it seems as though Yak is the only one who wanted to attempt this question, so, I will give him the credits. The answer I was looking for was $10,000. While the $100,000 Gold Certificate was the largest denomination of any US currency made, it was a Gold Certificate not a NOTE.

    Well....it looks like a sawbuck.

A sawbuck is slang for a $10 bill.

It is indeed a Sawbuck on which logs were cut with a bucksaw. $10 notes used to have an "X" on them which represented the Roman numeral X for 10 and this looked like the legs of the Sawbuck, hence the slang term for a $10 note.

I award RUFUSREDDOG the 25 CT Credits and done within the two hour time provided! Cheers!

You forgot one step, place the name KRISPY in the recipient box, leave me a nice comment and the number of credits. Then send it my way. :mouth:

And interestingly, the term 'buck' is thought to be derived from a time when buck-skins were traded in place of coined or printed money, especially in Colonial and Frontier American eras.

Quick (newbie) question...Anyone know how I can update my Avatar?

Also, I tried to post a picture from my computer. The image poster wants a URL...how do I deal with that? ...thanks.

(my questions are pretty "trivial", so I guess I'm in the right thread)

    USER CP > Edit Avatar

The other: "go advanced" > "manage attachments" > browse for image file > click upload (allow it to upload) then > submit reply

Use a website like photobucket and upload the pics there. They give you a URL after you upload.

For avatar, go to the control panel (User CP) and on the left hand side it says Edit Avatar (under settings and options)

I've already regained the points I rewarded you so I'll have to think of another question for a future credit giveaway contest...:thumb:
