Sounds like you did fine, Sgt. You have the king of the series in beautiful condition. And what I really love about the coin, nobody has tried to artificially spruce it up whatsoever.
Nice coin high grade and looks better than most others. The only spot thats empty in my book, value its priceless for eternity.
I would be leery of buying an 09'S VDB without having it attributed. Even though the MM looks close to the correct position of #4. It does not have the correct look. Get this one Authenticated. It would be a real bummer to lose out on over a $1000 dollars. Can you take a clear close up of just the date and MM. Also the VDB. Maybe @justafarmer can do one of his overlays.
Well done 1st Sgt, Looks like the die marker in the S is there. The stain above the chip threw me off for a second. And the VDB looks correct. @robec?
The dots are all in the correct location. SVDB’s all have the dot between the D and B centered, just like this coin.
The OP coin is at least an AU-50. This one is in an NGC EF-40 holder. I bought this coin with the old ANACS papers circa 1982. They graded it VF-20. I knew it would get higher grade that that when I submitted it, circa 2000.
