are people paying more than face value for circulated IKEs?

How are these strikes - look at the far left and right of the wooden staff of the bell and what do you see?

I decided to take the 1971 S IKE out of it's cello packaging. Here's the difference.

Here are my two 78's that I bought at the Cincinnati show. They look much better in hand as the lighting brings out too many flaws that are not visible by the naked eye. Each coin was graded PCGS MS66. Each coin has this wonderful gold toning to them that really makes each one pop.

    Nice coins.
Many folks have a tough time grading these because of the tiny flaws across the face of IKE. They are on the blank before being struck and the strike is not strong enough to remove them.

I'm wondering what the correct term is for these marks.
You see this a lot on Jefferson's as well.

All 3 should have grade MS-67 but I not going to crack out 73 & 74 to resubmit.

I don't blame you I would not crack them out either
I don't crack out anything I buy. I dont submit any either though
Took a year and intensively taught myself to grade. Third party graders are not consistent enough
for me yet. I will leave explicit instructions to to who ever the coin collector is in the family, that if they want to get top dollar out of the collection they will have to get them graded. As for me I'm just having fun

I call them planchet flaws and yes they to make grading difficult for both Jefferson's and IKE's.
