Seems pretty cool and not that much money either... I thought I heard they give these out on the Mint tour in Denver though??? Never been on the tour myself, but would love to someday.
illini, don't bother going all the way to Denver to visit the mint ,you will be very disappointed. If you do go to Colorado go to the ANA museum in the Springs, that I think you would enjoy ALOT!
Mint Cello? How do you know that it is from the mint? Anyone else ever get one of these? Still, nice price.
I was given one from a forum member of at PCGS. He also said it was from a mint tour so it seems plausible they are produced by the mint. I think it's pretty cool.
I've got one of those. The Mint gave a stack of them to our coin club to hand out to YNs at our show a number of years ago. I won one in a door prize drawing.
Here's a few from the stack that i use as rewards when I am doing the coin collecting merit badge with the scouts. Richard
I heard somewhere that the only mint that still gives tours is the Philladelphia mint and that they do still give these out. The ones i have were left over from a YN program run by NENA at their annual show in New Hampshire. Richard
How easy is it to go on the tour of the P mint ? Is it a case of just showing up or is it timed? Thanks
Looks like you can still tour the Denver mint. See http://www.usmint.gov/mint_tours/index.cfm?flash=yes&action=StartReservation Look at all the things you can't take in with you! Interesting!
