While working with the images of dimes I thought, 'This denomination has GOT to have the most varieties!' Then I got to the quarters. But that's for later. NGC has 13 dimes in its type set. I've got 11 of them. I'm missing the two oldest types (no surprise there). I'll post 9 of them omitting the Mercury and Roosevelt dimes. Plus I'll add the 20-cent coin on the end (it's got to go somewhere) for a total of 10. And with that many coins I'll post them in two parts. Here are the 5 oldest that I have:
Nice Set! I agree with the AU grades. I have been working on a set of Barber dimes & quarters, and find them harder and (often) more attractive than some uncs. I like, I like. :thumb:
Thanks for the compliments. I agree with you about AU's. Great way to save money and still get a coin that resembles MS. If at all possible I make MS-63 my minimum grade for uncirculated coins. I try to skip MS-60 thru -62. There's generally something undesirable about those grades. That's why I have so many AU's.
These are beautiful. I have to agree that the AU coins are a great way to get an attractive and "fully" detailed example of a particular series. Your pictures are terrific too.
