OK - So I've been reading about many different error varieties of the Bison nickels and I am curious how many different "errors" there are for this coin. I've heard of a detached leg, a dropped T and different spikes. Can anyone fill me in?

    Thanks!

    Nickels

There are many different so called errors from these beautiful Bison coins. They have been mentioned over at THIS thread.

Well let's see - at last count I think the number was approaching half a billion varieties. It will be the first time in history that every example in the entire mintage of a coin is unique

Half a billion sounds just about right! :D

There are a lot of nicknames, but only three "types" of die error that I'm aware of: die polishing, die chips, and die gouges.

Actually, if I am correct, the speared bison (die gouge) and the two horned (spiked horned) and the seperated leg (back leg) are the only ones that have officially been accepted as actual errors and are being graded and slabbed as such? The speared bison, in my opinion, will be the one to grab and hold.
