I know it can't be, but at first look, I was caught off guard. What do you think? Real?, Faked? Distorted?
I think you posted in the wrong forum.. The General Discussion forum is for Non Coin related topics such as.. How do you drink your coffe? Add sugar or not?
a 51 year old nickel that's been around the block and in and out of the cashier tiller millions of times ??
What's "not possible"? Real? Fake? Distorted? No idea what you are getting at or where you are going with this. Looks like 5 cents to me from the pictures.
If the question is a New Orleans mint.... Correct, not possible. No coins have been struck in New Orleans since before the Civil War and that predates Jefferson nickels by some seventy years or so. More than a hundred years from the date of your nickel. Unequivocally not possible.
You know, I tried this sight months ago but quit and still nothing has changed. Thought I might share an oddity. In this case as a "General Discussion", but although there are some nice and interesting members, there are too many haters / mean & critical ones for my taste. Not to worry, my 30k listeners need not hear my criticisms, I'll let them choose. But as for me, there's enough grief to go around without looking for or reaching out for it. Good bye all.
I totally apologize if I came across as a hater. Absolutely was not my intent. I was only trying to illustrate why this couldn’t happen. I deeply apologize if I offended.
Sorry to have you leave us. And people called me thin-skinned? We get a little frisky from time to time, so don't take it personal. Threads are like a box of chocolates, you never know which fork in the road it will take. As far as your questions are concerned, you did get some honest answers along with some ribbing. Come on back.
Ignore those you don't like. If you don't want the truth about your coins, you are on the wrong site.
Randy and Robert, it's not you. You guys are great. It's always the same few members that like to tick off new members. They know who they are.
