A few from my European collection

For 30yrs I've been working on a European collection. The time period covers from the 16th century to the 19th. I include one small denomintion (one minted in copper and one in silver), and one large denomintion (one minted in silver and one in gold) from each country and I include each state within. I'll never finish it, but it is a fun project. I'm also working on a European commemorative collection covering the time period of the 18th to very early 20th century. The German States are taking the longest to complete, which I knew it would.

Very nice Regandon. You have an eye for nice strikes!

I collect German States too. Specially those of the 1792-1825 Period, focusing on the Napoleonic era. The smaller States, duchies, or City States are specially challenging. For example, Sachsen-Hildburghausen, Hessen-Homburg, Leiningen, Waldeck, Wesfalen, Wallmoden, and others. I love the 1, 3, and 6 Kreuzer issues in particular.

    Really nice coins.

Can you tell me more about the smaller George III coin in the new NGC holder?

    Very best regards,

I've got 860 German pieces so far. The most challenging coin has been trying to find the 1709 Taler from Worms. Trying to find any good high grade coins from the states you've listed has been almost impossible. I know there out there, but its not been easy. I thought Austria was going to be just as hard. But it's nowhere as hard as it is to find nice high grade German 17th and 18th century pieces.

Nice German coins... I wonder if they ever put "Bismark" on any coins? Ripley

These are wonderful. From experience, it is extremely hard to find the right piece at the right price/time.

Keep posting these as they are great to look at!

Those look awesome. I have been on the lookout for a uniform coin myself, but recently I've been more concerned with boring, mundane stuff, like furniture and plane tickets :D

Anyway, your commemorative coin sounds extremely ambitious. Would you care to show your portuguese commemoratives?

I've not gotten any Portuguese coins yet. I've been working on Austria, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Swiss commemoratives.

I was thinking you'd be very satisfied with finishing a country :D The earliest commemorative I'm aware of is from 1898. From this date up til 1914 there are a total of 7 coins. The next after that is 1928, then 1960!!!

Unfortunately, I have none of these 7 early coins...
