How common are these Errors? Its only my 2nd One found. Is there much of a premium for these? Maybe $2-$3 dollars?
Nice find again congratulations don't know how common they are I've been looking through rolls for years and have never found one.In its condition it's worth no more than $5 but someone might pay more for it a true error collector.
Ya, That's you! I feel to most coins with a type of Error is worth more than Its face value. But thats just me. It's pretty much what someone wants to pay to have it.
I agree with @cpm9ball, I don't think they are worth more than face value. I'd keep one just as an example. Beyond that, I wouldn't bother.
I have never understood the preoccupation some coin buffs have about collar clash coins. Minor variations, meh, major ones, ok.
I've never found any interest in them either... I'm more of a MAD, Rotated Die, Doubled Die, Off-center Strike, Wrong Planchet type of guy... Of course I can't afford most of these
In the span of three weeks, or so, my wife gave me a few piles of coins to sort through and I found 3, 1972 DDO's. If I remember correctly, 1, 002, 1, 003 and 1, 008. I posted threads about them last year. Meh, maybe I'll give them to my friend to sell on eBay.
I'd stick it away as a curiosity, but I wouldn't expect anyone to pay me more than 25¢ for it. I have seen some rather awesome die clashes that would bring a nice premium, but that one is pretty minor.
Even enlarging the photos I don't see anything that special about your coin, but that's just me. Some reeding on the edge, meh.
hey Amberlarry22 congrats on your find. keep putting these errors back somewhere and after a couple of years post them on a website for sale. you may try and wrangle up several of the Error Coin Collectors and sell them all to one of those guys...never know you may come out in the good on a sale like that. good luck man
