Just got in mail envelope completely torn open 1/4 of envelope missing. Luckily somehow the coin stayed in
lol I did get a new camera however I didn’t use it for the images. I used my iPhone with a macro Moment lens. I will send you the information about it.
I am slowly acquiring early commemorative half dollars over the last year. Most of them are slabbed coins but I got this in the mail yesterday as I already have the 1892 and couldn't find a slabbed one I liked:
Got an amazing 1945 Walking half. Thinking of getting it graded, but have never done that before. THoughts?
Some of this week's newps: A very scarce high grade 1850-O Dime . . . A mint State 1914 Quarter Eagle . . . A nice middle grade 1920-D Walker . . . A rare 1857-S Seated Half Dollar . . .
Won an auction for a lot of seated dimes in ebay's world coin section. One of them was this "1877" dime: My first Carson City piece.
Believe it or not, there is a whole "sub-culture" that collects low grade US Commemoratives. I've become bitten by that bug as well, but competition in that field is fierce. Many of these get sent off to PCGS to see who can get the lowest grade. I will probably never do that but I think the first would qualify as a P-2 and the second as an AG-4. A couple more recent arrivals. Z
But I do like pretty coins as well. Here is a recent arrival that ticks off quite a few boxes. World coin Large silver Awesome toning Early commemorative High grade Beautiful design (reverse) Z Prussian 1871 A Seiges Thaler
Your coin is on my list to buy. Your coins grade is amazing. I am not sure what to think of the toning ??? I do like toned coins too. Usually the coins I see her face is messed up. Yours is decent.
