Then they should not be called OBW rolls. They should be called Schrodinger's rolls.

IMO if you're taking one for the team, the only true way to do that is to either praise the seller by name, should you actually receive a bona fide OBW roll, or 'out him' by name if it's a scam.

If you do open the box, all the sets should be open. If not then they have been searched. These folks that scam can be very good at pulling on the heart strings.

I've seen numerous Mint packages of the era and have no doubt this is the real deal...with period USPS stamps across the tape.

I just don't want to call anyone out on CT...unless they're selling fakes. I have no doubt you can figure it out on your own. ;)

I hope you have great luck with OBW roll, the end coins are beautiful. However, I'm too wary of eBay sellers, those OBW rolls remind me of the "3-card monte" game.

Good question. I'd venture a guess that if you carefully unroll only one end of a crimped roll you can possibly reuse it. Without doing any investigative work it certainly seems plausible.

@yakpoo looks like the The British Banker's Club is there and they might even still have a table like you mentioned. This shows up when you click "see inside"

That looks like the table, but I don't recall the surroundings. It was a long time ago. It was fun because everyone around the table were strangers who would actually talk to each other. It was a very social environment.

I don't recall it being too bad. There was a Stamford crowd that hung out there on weekends.

The menu is on their website. Dinner isn't expensive at all. Quite reasonable actually. The bar menu is where they getcha ;) As always.

I tried leaving negative feedback for a bogus obw roll I purchased and it never appeared on his page. EBay sucks.

I meant 'outing' the seller here on CT as a PSA to the members here.

Surprise! Surprise! ...the roll was received by USPS at midnight March 5th/6th in Missouri and delivered March 8th (an hour ago) in Maryland...just about 60 hours enroute. Nice job USPS! :)
