Hello I always collected change coins but just started trying to find error coins. my lady and I just went thru about 11-1200 dollars worth of change recently after finding out about coin errors . I mainly just kept wheat pennies, silver dollars, half dollars, and dollar coins. I am interested in getting a little feed back on some of my finds.

Looks like extreme Machine doubling e.t.c but not %100 sure it could be a DD can we get full pictures of the obverse and reverse of the coin and if you need help just ask

JeffC Go explore something and think a happy thought!

Now I'm wondering if there is such a thing as "Machine Tripling."

What you are seeing to be specific is incused machine doubling.

It's quite common on the reverse of the national park quarters in the lettering which is incuse and not raised like on the obverse and it's no added value. the die bounces slightly on the strike and creates shelving, as opposed to a true doubled die where the die (or master die, or even hub) itself has the doubling and it will be repeated exactly on every coin it strikes. "doubled die" means literally, the doubling is on the die.... it's not a product of the strike.

    Spark1951 Accomplishment, not Activity

...so, obviously, to produce this tripled effect, the die bounced twice during the strike...jmho...Spark

No need now I only asked because it was at 10:00pm and I was tired. Its machine doubling as stated not a Doubled die.
