Let's hope so!! Only had 2.5 hours to do all the prep-cooking and count the drawers. I got it down to a science. I did eventually get some competition when the owner noticed me setting some coins aside and inquired. I couldn't hide it, but I learned to speed count the drawers and get them done before he'd pop in to check on me and the lone waitress. We were left to prep the place for the dinner rush, so he and his wife would leave once I showed up to head home and have a quick late-lunch. That usually gave me enough time to be the Flash!!
I've seen more older coins in circulation in the last 10 years that I did in the 30 years before. We can thank CoinStar and banks for putting in coin sorting machines. People are generally lazy when it comes to rolling their change. I'm guilty of it. I have a jar I put change in and when it's full I bring the jar to a local bank and use the self service counting machine and usually walk out with about $115.00. I may do this a few times during the year. This is most likely the reason those pennies where found in rolls. Grandpa or grandma dies and the family takes his / her many jars on change and just dump them in the hopper at the bank or grocery store. This is where these are coming from. And there is also the chance that someone's house was robbed and the thief grabbed any money they could find and used it to buy drugs. They gotta get their fix and they don't care if the money is new or old all they want is the drugs.
