1st nickel find 1984-d--- ddr

    found this in my first ever roll of nickels cool dont know much about nickels. what is this thing worth?

    Worth what it is marked on the reverse. Still an educational piece for you to look at another time or to show to others of what die deteriation looks like. The wear on the Nickel Dies is the strongest because the size and composition of the planchets.

    I agree,
    It's die deterioration doubling and on nickels, it can be very deceptive.

    I am not trying to be rude but you need to study what a doubled die looks like. They are not easy to find although they do turn up in rolls.

    you can do a search for doubled dies to pull up the articles that will help most.
